Whether you're an actor, model, filmmaker, agent, or entrepreneur, at this event you will be in the presence of independent filmmakers that are looking for aspiring actors for upcoming projects. We will put you in the company of industry professionals that are doing what you want to do and who want to share their experiences and knowledge of the industry. How can you develop as an actor? What is needed to win that audition? What are Filmmakers looking for? Do you stay in Charlotte or go to California or New York to pursue your career? During this networking event, our panel will answer these questions and many more.

Spike Spillberg
Troy Whitehurst aka Spike Spillberg is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University with a concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. During his time at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, Mr. Whitehurst produced several videos for the university in addition to commercials and promotional tools for the corporate and private sector. This led Mr. Whitehurst to start a production company, S.K.E.E.B.O. Productions (Self Knowledge Elevates Everything Being Original) with a grant from his university for winning first place in the Entrepreneurial Business Plan Competition. Mr. Whitehurst has produced several short films that make up The Real Life Series, including The Fuzz and The Jive, Choices, and Hot Like Fire, the latter which he also wrote and directed. These films have screened at several film festivals and private screenings. Mr. Whitehurst’s has also completed his first feature film entitled Victim of Circumstance, about a young woman trapped in an abusive relationship and her efforts to reach her goals. Mr. Whitehurst has done several promotional documentaries for Johnson C. Smith University, The Commemorative Classic Football Game, Mike Minter Enterprises, and Covring Products. His latest project his a documentary entitled The Challenge, which takes a look at the lives of young men and women and the effects of them growing up without a father in the home.
Mr. Whitehurst is also the host of an internet radio broadcast Spike Spillberg Presents, which airs Monday –Friday on BlogTalkRadio at 9pm, in addition to hosting a weekly television program in Charlotte that focuses on the film industry, subjects that impact the lives of the community, and positive thoughts to motivate people to reach their dreams.
Daman Galloway Daman Galloway, also known as "D-Nicewitit", has over 13 years of Professional acting experience, 10 years of writing, and ventured into the Independent Film Industry over 7 years ago. His work writing, acting, and directing credential crosses the boundaries of theatre & film. He is the proud Founder & CEO of Nu Visionz Productions, based in Charlotte, NC. Galloway recently completed work on his company's latest project, a short film titled "Demento", which increases the awareness of Domestic Abuse. His affiliations include, but are not limited to * Reel-Soul Cinema Screenwriter's Guild * The Charlotte Film Society
Jonathan Reed, Started editing in 2001 and has been making short films since 2005. While at NCSA he made BAILEY VITCH. His credits also include INCONVENIENCE TERRORIST, MIDNIGHT IN CHARLOTTE and TIMESTILLERS which is currently in pre-production.
His commercial credits are just as impressive as an independent filmmaker with the following A BLIND DATE, A QUEST FOR DORITOS PART 1 & 2, ATTACK OF THE DORITOS & DORITOS ANYTIME VS 1 & 2 which is currently being submitted for the Crash For The Super Bowl Contest. Vince Paul -- Vince is one of Charlotte's top commercial agents as well as a well-known actor and model. Vince has appeared in numerous television commercials, movies, industrials, print ads and national touring theatrical productions. Parking
We are located in the Highland Mills building next to the Johnston YMCA. Please enter our parking lot by traveling to end of 33rd Street and make a left through the security gate and then an immediate left into the parking lot, our office is located half way down on the right between the 2nd & 3rd light post . Parking is also available along 33rd Street. If you park along the street there is a sidewalk located past the handicap signs that will allow access through the hedge surrounding our property, walk straight ahead, through the parking lot, down the steps to the left and we are located 2 doors down.
